"Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Chrsit for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12
"And without controvesy great is the mistery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of Angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." 1 Tim. 3:16
On September 5, 1999 when I decided to take on Jesus' Name in Water Baptism, there were doubts that eight and a half years later I would have remain steadfast in that committment. Jesus in his infinite wisdom, provided sustainance when on October 17 of the same year, He baptized me with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues.
Undoubtedly there were the sceptics who gave me two weeks to be backslidden, to go back to being that old me. Those of you who went to the C-Bar with me know exactly what I speak about. However, to God be the glory!, for his saving grace and mercy have kept me these many years.
Today as I sat here writing this journal, I thought to myself - What an Incredible God!" When I look back over my life and realise exactly where I am coming from and how the Lord Jesus has refashioned me and made me a brand new vessel - one of honour, one that utters His praises each time I get the chance, burn my knees on the altar of sacrifice, it fills my heart with joy!
Growing through those rugged teenage years in search of myself, as with many others, was not an easy road to throd. It took a lot of guts, tenacity, stickability to the competition and a sense of Moral guidance and direction. I still give God thanks whole-heartedly for those years at C-Bar cause those years built my character. I am glad that he directed my life down those hallowed halls at 61 Red Hills Road.
More grateful I am however, for that day when my friend invited me to go the house of the Lord. My life has been turn in a totally new direction, my relationship with my mother and syblings has strengthened and I had the opportunity of fulfilling many of my dreams (which included meeting my father). I got to meet him for the first time this March when I visited Atlanta.
In summary Jesus has kept me from death, shame, destruction and he has preserved me. There sure aint enough space on here to write a full entry of all the stuff he has brought me through.
So to all my friends on here, I implure you "Repent and be baptized everyone of you, in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins. And ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38 (KJV)
You will experience a change in your life that you never thought possible and Heaven will be yours for the taking.
