Blaq $hea embraced life as a rapper, as a youngster back in 1985; when inspiration struck in the form of "Eric B. For President" by Eric B. and Rakim (Paid In Full). He took to not only rapping but writing his own material. 2006 found the now-grown Blaq $hea coming into his own, playing packed shows, selling his CDs and collaborating with other Louisville, Kentucky artists. "Under Construction", a Summer 2008 release, was Blaq $hea's first full-length debut. Before that release, he had already distinguished himself with a series of mixtapes. 'The difference between those and "Under Construction", says Blaq $hea, is the level of freestyling. The mixtapes were more like all freestyles. This album featured one maybe one freestyle'. Blaq $hea was nominated by the Kentucky Music Pool as Rookie of the Year in 2007. In 2008 he was nominated for Kentucky's 1 Artist & Grinding On The Block (Louisville). Also, in 2009 Blaq $hea was nominated for Internet Hustler & Grinding On The Blaock (Lou). He is currently working with A&R Select, the world leading independent artist development firm, based out of Los Angeles, CA.
